Spray Lakes Reservoir is in Kananaskis Country near Canmore and is a popular alpine reservoir for trout and lake trout angling. The reservoir is open year‑round; bait is allowed (bait fish prohibited) and the daily trout limit is 5 trout (this includes a maximum of 3 lake trout), with a specific lake trout limit of 3 fish and mountain whitefish limit of 5 over 30 cm. Tributaries have a bait ban and different seasons/limits: tributaries are open July 1–Aug 31 with a 2‑trout daily limit (rainbow and cutthroat must be over 35 cm) and mountain whitefish 5 over 30 cm, while tributaries are open Sept 1–Oct 31 with a bait ban but closed to trout and mountain whitefish (0 trout, 0 mountain whitefish).
