Little Red Deer River

Little Red Deer River is a stream in the Red Deer River watershed in southwestern Alberta near Sundre; regulations differ between the headwater reach downstream to Township Road 352 (Cottonwood Road) and the mainstem from that road downstream to the Red Deer River. The headwater reach (downstream to Twp. Rd. 352) is open Apr. 1–Oct. 31 with a bait ban; no trout or mountain whitefish may be kept and northern pike limit is three fish. The mainstem (Cottonwood Road downstream to the Red Deer River, including all tributaries) is open May 15–Mar. 1 with only maggots allowed; no trout retention, northern pike 3 over 63 cm, mountain whitefish 3 over 30 cm, goldeye 10, burbot 2 (but burbot limit is zero Feb. 1–Mar. 1), and walleye/sauger are prohibited.
