Elbow River
Elbow River is a mountain stream in southwestern Alberta flowing from the Elbow Falls area through Bragg Creek and Glenmore Reservoir into the Bow River, near Bragg Creek and the city of Calgary. Regulations vary by reach: the headwaters downstream to Elbow Falls (and tributaries except Quirk Creek) are open June 16–Oct 31 with a bait ban, allow 2 brook trout and prohibit other trout and mountain whitefish; the mainstem from Hwy 22 downstream to Glenmore Reservoir (and tributaries) is open June 16–Oct 31 with a bait ban, 2 trout daily limit with rainbow and cutthroat minimum lengths over 35 cm and mountain whitefish limited to 5 over 30 cm; the mainstem from Glenmore Reservoir downstream to the Bow River is open year‑round with a bait ban and no retention (0 fish) of trout, walleye, northern pike, mountain whitefish or burbot; the reach from Elbow Falls downstream to Canyon Creek is closed all year.
