Cline River

Cline River is a mountain stream in west-central Alberta near Nordegg along the David Thompson Highway; the described regulation area covers the mainstem and tributaries downstream to the Highway 11 (Cline River) bridge, excluding tributaries to Coral and Pinto lakes, all water within the White Goat Wilderness Area, and the outlet of Pinto Lake for 1.5 km downstream. Anglers commonly target trout and mountain whitefish in this reach. Regulations summary: This section is open June 16–Aug 31 and Sept 1–Oct 31 with a bait ban in effect. June 16–Aug 31: total trout limit 2 trout; mountain whitefish limit 5 (minimum length 30 cm); cutthroat trout retention only if over 30 cm. Sept 1–Oct 31: no trout or cutthroat retention (0 trout) and no mountain whitefish may be kept.
