Castle River is a southern Alberta stream (mainstem from Hwy. 3 to the West Castle River) in the Castle area near Castle Provincial Park, south of Pincher Creek. From June 16 to Aug. 31 there is a bait ban; anglers may keep 2 trout total, rainbow and cutthroat trout must be over 35 cm, and mountain whitefish are limited to 5 fish over 30 cm. From Sept. 1 to Oct. 31 there is a bait ban and no trout may be retained (0 trout) and mountain whitefish retention is prohibited (0 fish).
