Brazeau River
Brazeau River is a mountain stream in west‑central Alberta near Drayton Valley and the Brazeau Reservoir, with multiple regulated reaches supporting cutthroat, mountain whitefish and trout angling. Regulations vary by reach: mainstem downstream of the Brazeau Reservoir is open Apr. 1–Oct. 31, subject to a bait ban, and prohibits retention of trout, walleye, northern pike, mountain whitefish, burbot, sauger and goldeye (0 limits). The reach between the Forestry Trunk Road and the reservoir (open Apr. 1–Oct. 31, bait ban) allows 2 trout (aggregate), walleye 3 over 50 cm, northern pike 3 over 63 cm, mountain whitefish 5 over 30 cm and cutthroat trout only over 35 cm; upstream of the Forestry Trunk Road (outside Jasper National Park) is open June 16–Aug. 31 with a 2‑trout aggregate, cutthroat over 30 cm and mountain whitefish 5 over 30 cm, then open Sept. 1–Oct. 31 with a bait ban and no trout or mountain whitefish retention.
