Belly River
Belly River is a stream in southwest Alberta near Waterton Lakes and the town of Pincher Creek; regulations differ above and below Secondary Road 800. Upstream of Sec. Rd. 800 and its tributaries the river is closed Sept. 1–June 15; it is open June 16–Aug. 31 with a bait ban, no trout retention (0 trout) and mountain whitefish are non-retainable. Downstream of Sec. Rd. 800 and its tributaries the river is open June 16–Aug. 31 with a bait ban and a combined limit of 2 trout (rainbow and cutthroat must be over 35 cm) and mountain whitefish limit 5 over 30 cm; from Sept. 1–Oct. 31 it remains open with a bait ban but trout retention is prohibited (0 trout) while mountain whitefish retention remains 5 over 30 cm.
